Tier 4 Student (General) Visas
These pages relate to the Tier 4 (General) Student Visa for students who are due to, or are currently studying at the University of Salford.
International Students
If you are classed as an International Student for immigration purposes, you will need to obtain a Student Visa to allow you to study in the United Kingdom.
What type of Visa do I need? (flowchart)
For courses which are longer than 6 months, you will need to apply to the UK Borders Agency (UKBA) for a Tier 4 Student Visa which will enable you to study at the University of Salford.
You need to submit a valid Confirmation of Acceptance to Study (CAS) Reference Number as part of the Tier 4 Student Visa application. This is an electronic reference number which is required as part of your application form.
Note: Under UKBA guidance, the University of Salford does not provide a hard copy document with the CAS Reference.
These pages explain the CAS Reference number in further detail and also provide assistance with the visa application process.
